Ruskie Rural pay a visit to the Callander Hydro Scheme
It is a project devised to make positive use of one of Callander’s natural resources - rain. This water is used to generate energy, which is sold to an electricity supplier for use within the National Grid. The available income from the scheme is allocated every three months by the CCDT Board to support activities within the community. This money is available to support projects to benefit Callander through the Callander Community Hydro Fund.
We would like to thank Paul & Frank who very kindly guided us up the hill and explained how the scheme evolved and how it is now working very successfully........especially when it rains! Thank you both for giving over your morning to Ruskie Rural
We finished off a super morning with lunch at the Lade Inn.
