Ripple Retreat Visit

In 2010, a very special couple, Ian and Lynne McNicoll, founded the registered charity ‘It’s Good 2 Give’. The goal was to open a retreat for families of young cancer patients in Scotland. In 2017, on the shores of Loch Venacher, the Ripple Retreat was opened. The retreat is a place where these families can unwind during the most challenging of times. It provides a calm and caring environment alongside rest and support in a uniquely beautiful setting away from the everyday realities of living with cancer.

A group of ladies from Ruskie Rural were very privileged to have a tour around the retreat. We were given a very warm welcome from Lynne and her team of volunteers and were then shown around the house. It was breathtaking. Lynne was very informative about the running of the retreat. Every detail in the retreat has been implemented with the patient and family in mind. We had coffee and cake around the table and listened to the experiences of Lynne and the volunteers. We then had a walk around the grounds in the sunshine.

It was a very thought provoking visit.
