Wild Fox Glencoe Marathon

Wild Fox Glencoe Marathon

Saturday 7 and Sunday 7 September

Wow, you could not have asked for a better day for the Wild Fox Glencoe Marathon. For the runners, dry a little overcast and mild … and the stunningly beautiful drive up the road and slight breeze to keep the midges away made for happy Ruskie Rural stewards too. Allison McLeod, Liz Black and Pamela Deans headed up early to Kinlochleven for registering the half marathon runners (at the brilliant Ice Factor) then waved them off before “clocking in” the full marathon runners who came through the half way point at pace cheered on by friends and family. Seona Michael, Helen Little, Christine Hamilton and Ann Brown went straight to the Ben Nevis hub and oversaw the bag handling, massage appointments, medal giving and de-tagging of runners, joined by the Kinlochleven team for the final shift of the day. Ruskie Rural Fundraising Stewards have now officially “clocked off” for the season – we’ll be back next year!
