S.C.&W.P. Federation Spring Meeting

S.C.&W.P. Federation Spring Meeting

Saturday 27 April 2019

Ladies of the Federation made their way to Bridge of Allan for the spring meeting. It was great to see a full hall. Mary Young went over the business and then handed the afternoon over to Nell Nelson of T.V. fame...... 'The Woman who ate Scotland ' Nell told the audience her passion for food started in Hong Kong. She then took us on a journey with the help of an old atlas, pointing out where she had cycled. Nell decided to cycle from Hong Kong to Sydney, collecting recipes along the way to write a travel cook book called The Woman Who Ate Asia. It took her seven months to cycle 5,000 miles on her own, through nine countries, eating and discovering recipes such as Vietnamese spiced fish wrapped in banana leaves. She then came back to Scotland and after making lots of calls made a T.V. series about her two passions ......food and cycling. The Federation were delighted that she was able to come to our meeting and I am sure she will see some of us at her 'Food Safari' in Edinburgh.

A raffle followed and a welcome cup of tea with shortbread.

Thanks to Mary and her team for all their hard work
