"Locating our lost heritage"

"Locating our lost heritage"

14 March 2017

Anne Artis, extended a warm welcome to members and friends. The hall was full to hear Paul Norris, Metal Detectorist & History Finder from Killin give the ladies of Ruskie an insight into metal detecting. Paul gave a most informative talk and Powerpoint on his finds, he had an annotated map of Ruskie which we all found fascinating.  We all had a good look at the map to see if our house was marked with hidden treasure!   Paul 's talk was so interesting and his knowledge of Scottish history brought the artefacts he found on his metal detecting outings to life.  Thank you Paul for taking the time to come to Ruskie.

Competitions:

Old metal object: 1st: Jean Fergusson 2nd Ann Davidson 3rd Allison McLeod.

4 Whisky truffles: Winner of the Mrs Parlane Trophy: Allison McLeod 2nd Ann Davidson 3rd Mary Muirhead.

A delicious supper was provided by Janice Oman, Liz Black and Janice Milne.
