Visit to Grahams Dairy

Ruskie Rural visited Grahams Family Dairy at Mains of Boquhan farm today. We were led by Leanne and Ruth who were both very passionate and knowledgeable about the 240 Jersey cows who were in the barns. These cows produce the milk for Grahams award winning Gold Top milk. This is a ‘closed’ herd and the numbers are maintained by breeding from within. Thus there is full control over health standards and any external diseases are eliminated. The cows are milked robotically and this was fascinating to watch. We had a great experience amongst these beautiful animals. In true Ruskie fashion we then went to the Woodhouse at Kippen Station where we had something to eat and great chats. Thanks to Liz for all the organising.
